Weekly meshchat builds

This repository builds new versions of meshchat every night, and publishes only if there is a new rns/lxmf/meshchat version/hash. This is not the ideal way of utilizing this software and can break.

Install

Head over to the releases tab and download the AppImage from any tag

To keep up with new releases use Gear Lever for appimage management.

The purpose of this repository is to keep up with new RNS releases, allowing for testing. Also, some improvements have been pushed since the last update but no release has been built.

If you were wondering about the future of meshchat and wanted to know if there is an alternative, I don't know. The lead developer has prioritized meshcore development and that's ok, we all have limited time in a day.

MeshchatX is a notable fork that continues development and adds many new features. In my opinion it is not ready to be used, it consistently has undocumented breaking changes, and seems to be developed with the assistance of an LLM. The state of MeshchatX may change but I currently recommend waiting for it to improve.
